Toby is the Executive Director of IIMI, a think tank representing SME asset and wealth management firms in London, Sinapore and across Europe. In this wide-ranging role, Toby heads up the policy team, forms the organisation’s strategy and liaises with key organisations including HM Treasury, FCA, UK Parliament and other financial institutions. New City Initiative currently has around 50 members who collectively manage over £500 billion and employ several thousand people. Toby is a Founder and Director of the Kulin Initiative, a think tank focused on Bosnia & Herzegovina. KI’s vision is for a unified, prosperous and modern Bosnia-Herzegovina which respects the rule of law, embraces global free markets and realises its full potential through innovation. KI will drive the transformation of Bosnia-Herzegovina by working with local and international communities to promote innovative programs that facilitate judicial reform, digitalisation, brain-drain mitigation, investment and trade, social cohesion and political engagement. Toby Illingworth is a Director of The Channel Group, The Channel Group is a boutique trade consultancy business focusing on providing insight and access to emerging and frontier markets. The Channel Group brings together businesses, diplomatic teams and embassies to encourage and facilitate trade, benefiting both businesses and the countries they operate in. Toby is the District Councillor for Buxted and Maresfield, in Wealden. Toby was elected in May 2015 and is working to ensure the area has better infrastructure and has a particular interest in supporting small businesses across the area. Toby is Deputy Chairman of the Audit, Finance & Governance Committee, overseeing the finances of the council and ensuring that efficiency and value for money are at the heart of how the council operates. He also sits on the cabinet advisory groups for finance and economy, developing policy for the council and the Licensing Committee. Toby is also the Director of Sussex Weald Homes, a property development company owned by Wealden District Council. He has previously worked at Adams & Remers Solicitors and Glyndebourne Opera House. In addition to this, Toby holds a number of positions within the Conservative Party, including as Chairman for Wealden Conservative Association.
