Punit Satsangi is a Managing Director and Head of Business Development at SS&C covering EMEA & APAC. Punit's career has been focused on delivering customer solutions in the asset servicing industry for close to 30 years, with a focus on the alternatives industry. Before joining SS&C in 2012, Punit held several positions at J.P. Morgan within New Business Development, Operations, Product and Project Management across J.P. Morgan Asset Management and J.P. Morgan Corporate Investment Bank. Punit has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a postgraduate diploma in European Business Management as part of the Flemings Graduate scheme. At SS&C, Punit leads an international team of business development managers and country-specific market specialists who are responsible for expanding SS&C's client base across key market segments, including Hedge Funds, Private Markets, Asset Management, Pension Funds, Insurance Companies and Family Offices. Over 2023, Punit has been engaged with clients and industry influencers in discussing key industry trends and needs. These trends include market drivers towards full front-to-back solutions in the alternative (hedge) fund services market and how managers are tackling a challenging financial marketplace to create opportunity. For example, the challenging macroeconomic environment and the client demand for thematic investing in their search for returns have required hedge fund managers to implement multi-asset investment strategies and adapt their operating model to support new strategies. Punit’s recent focus has been centred on SS&C expanding its Asset Servicing capabilities in France, Switzerland, Nordics, United Arab Emirates and Australia. Other areas where Punit has consulted with leading industry participants have focussed on inflation and interest rate rises and geopolitical tensions and how that has led to an increasing desire to quickly rebalance and rotate assets between public and private assets within the same environment (a fund or segregated mandate). One of the most exciting areas Punit has been talking to the hedge fund industry about is how managers can adopt intelligent automation into the ecosystem. This can involve anything from the deployment of digital workers (software bots) combining multiple automation techniques, including business process management (BPM), robotic process automation (RPA), and artificial intelligence (AI), to automate business processes and streamline decision-making across organizations.
