Melanie has over fifteen years’ experience working with FCA regulated entities. Having previously led our Financial Services sector as Co-Head, Melanie now advises a range of clients across the alternatives space. While predominantly working with fund managers – both hedge and private equity – Melanie also has significant experience with broker-dealers, sub-advisors and placement agents. Melanie’s extensive experience also extends to working with early-stage managers, from launch to supporting them in a full-service, outsourced accounting capacity. As well as delivering audit and assurance services, including track record reporting and FCA CASS audits, she supports her clients with RegData reporting, tax advisory and compliance, and set-up, financial management and transaction advice. Melanie regularly speaks on topical panels at sector specific events, where she has covered areas including Outsourcing and Service Provider Selection and Tax Structuring: LLP vs Limited, and she regularly contributes to sector publications. In 2017 she was a co-contributor to the publication ‘Successfully Launching A Hedge Fund In Europe’, and more recently she contributed to HFM’s special report ‘How to Start A Hedge Fund in Europe.’ Melanie’s contribution to the financial services sector was recognised by Brummell in 2022 with her being named as one of their Inspirational Women in the City. She is also a member of the ICAEW’s FS Faculty and a regular attendee of AIMA, HFM and 100 Women in Finance events. Melanie also holds the position of Head of International at HaysMac. Beyond HaysMac, Melanie is a Director of HaysMac’s international association, MSI Global Alliance. She also volunteers for the Rise initiative, which exists to support young people in hard-to-reach areas of the UK, with the overall aim of improving social mobility.
