49 Peter Northcott

Peter works for KB Associates, the Fund Services consultancy, as an Operational Consultant based in London, and the Head of their London Office.  His principal practice areas are working with start-up hedge fund managers as an Outsourced COO and advising established managers as to how to prepare for investor operational due diligence.  He also represents KB Associates more broadly in the London market and offers a Facilities Agency service for overseas investment managers seeking to market into the UK.

Peter is an experienced public speaker, including chairing conferences, moderating panels, hosting round tables and presenting on various topics including launching a hedge fund, outsourcing and service provider selection, and operational due diligence.  He also lectures on the Henley Business School Hedge Fund Executive Programme.

Peter has worked in the financial services industry since 1989.  He has expertise as a hedge fund COO at several firms, in operational due diligence at a fund of funds, and in change management.  Prior to that, Peter worked in the investment banking industry in a number of senior operational and change management roles at ANZ (in New Zealand), Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan.

Peter has also advised the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) authoring, or contributing to, various DDQs and Guides to Sound Practices over many years, and has been a member of their Sound Practices Committee since inception.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (Hons) in Physics from the University of Birmingham, is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and is a Chartered Secretary.
